Wazamba Eau de Parfum
WAZAMBA takes its name from a musical instrument, a type of sistrum used in West African rituals. Just as the deep, full sounds of percussion resonate during African initiation ceremonies, this mystical scent resonates with the intoxicating, resinous notes of rare ingredients. The precious resins and woods burned in the sacred rituals of many different cultures are brought together: deeply resonant Somali incense, Kenyan myrrh, Ethiopian opoponax, Indian sandalwood and Moroccan cypress.
This intense, powerful fragrance starts unfolding its mysteries with a soaring note of incense, the main axis of the composition, bolstered by aldehydes. Cypress weaves its green, earthy notes into the scent, as sandalwood wraps it in creaminess, conjuring India where its smoke is thought to purify the spirit and enhance meditation. WAZAMBA’s long-lasting sillage blends the liquorice accents of myrrh, aromatic fir balsam absolute and the forbidden-fruit note of apple, melting into burnt cistus labdanum.
Why we’re addicted: The woody, resinous scent of sacred rituals creates an extraordinary, very personal blend.
